Q:
В чем разница между keen on и fond of ?
A:
Fond of is when you love or deeply passionate about something. Keen on is the same but there are occasions where one of these sounds wierd in a given context. For me, i use "fond of" when i already like something. I use "keen on" when i like something that just happened or for something that will happen in the future.
for example, if you really like strawberry icecream, and you want to tell someone that you love it, you can say i am fond of strawberry icecream.
But if you are trying this flavour for the first time and you like the taste, you can say i am keen on this flavour; i am quite keen on this.
If you say "I am fond of using acrylic paint" it shows that you love using this medium but, if you say "I am keen on using acrylic paint" it shows that you want to use it.
