A:
Sometimes I can misunderstand, if the person is speaking quickly or with a different accent. Getting it wrong will give the opposite understanding of the intended meaning. I can only assume it's a matter of practice for you, like it was for me in childhood.

You can just say American. In the United States we classify “Native Americans” as a specific type of people (too much to type, it would be an entire history lesson!)- it’s not what you’re meaning to say.
You can say “are there any Americans that I can speak/practice English with?”☺️

Q:
When natives study English, do you learn the grammar of all kinds of clauses at school? And when you read a sentence long as well as complex, how do you input and understand it in your mind? Is there any methods or skills ? Thank you so much!
A:
For me, English grammar was taught by some teachers, while others didn’t focus on it. Because we grew up speaking it, we mostly focused on what each term was called (main clauses and subordinate clauses, types of conjunctions, etc.) as well as fixing common grammar mistakes made by native speakers. We actually make a lot of mistakes, and sometimes I think a lot of English learners have better grammar than us because they study English more thoroughly 😅. Fortunately, English grammar is generally very flexible and word order can be changed to an extent.
For reading complex sentences, I actually noticed that when I’m trying to speak in a different language, I mess up the word order because I still “think in English”.
For example, when I’m speaking Chinese:
I ate lunch in the park.
我在公园吃了午饭。
This is a basic example, but when I say more complex sentences, the location always becomes an add-on at the end of the sentence. I’m so used to the English grammar and word order that I don’t even think of the location until I’ve said everything else.
I think reading improves your grammar, vocabulary and writing all at once. It also helps you adjust to the different sentence structure. English grammar doesn’t always make sense, so you just have to memorize and see the patterns.
Good luck with your studies :)

For example I want to say: Having higher scores compared to your classmates can increase your chances of getting employed by companies.
A:
Yes. To my understanding, classmate is just someone in the same class as you. But it might be more appropriate to say peers, as they're pretty much equal to you in some ways.
