for phone calls I would recommend keeping it simple. however, to my understanding hajimemashite translates to, how do you do. or how are you.

A: It depends on context. If you did not remember to take your phone then you would say: I "forgot" to take my mobile phone
Otherwise I would say: I forget to take my mobile phone. Maybe for example you would say "I always forget to take my mobile phone"
If you say "I forget taking my mobile phone" it could mean you took your phone but you do not remember taking it.
