[Abstract]
This thesis starts from the research on the possibilities of moving image designs on my artworks that explore using physical expressions. I have made video works about the "Echoes" series and the "Slice" series using physical expressions from 2014-2015. The video works were shown in my solo exhibition, "Image Phenomenon of Dance” in 2015, including other exhibitions and festivals. The artworks consist of several videos about dance and physical expressions applications. A Human body is composed of universal and elemental components. The reason behind the tittle "Image Phenomenon of Dance”, is that I want to examine phenomena that video media alone has, and to seek the small universe invisible to the naked eyes. I considered abilities of moving image designs on the physical expressions, and gave importance on designing the features of video media other than performing arts on the stage. For the physical expressions that solely video media has, this research is composed of the following keywords close-up, multi screen and time remapping. These keywords can be interpreted in terms of aesthetic value that should be considered when we design moving images.
