What's your high school life like? When I was a high school student, I arrived at school before 7:20 and went home at 22:00. Hardly have time to have fun and enjoy my life. 😫

When I was in high school, I got to school at 8am and left at around 5:30 - 6 pm. Usually I spent the next few hours doing homework.... Or I would stay up until 2am doing homework. My teachers were heavy on that. So I didn't have much fun either. :/

Stay up late to 2am! Why not just leave it and tell the teacher you haven't finished it yet? Will there be any punishments?

@Zoeyyyy: yeah my teachers often gave homework that was due the next day. If you didn't finish it, you got a 0 on it. And a lot of the grade was based on homework. Sooooo 2am or fail!

However, this was mainly because of the classes I was in. If I had just taken normal classes I wouldn't have been so stressed. And looking back, I should have done that. It wasn't worth it.

@Radhel: Oh, I got it. What I got from your words is that, in America, homework counts when you apply for universities. Correct?

In China, your grade in college entrance exam decides whether you are able to be admitted by a well-known college, so usually it does not matter if you got 0 in other exams at school.

@Zoeyyyy: oh, no. Homework is just something for a class grade. Like you have probably had a class on calculus at some point. It would be a grade just for that class. We also have entrance exams for universities. There's 2 different ones: the ACT and the SAT. Some students take both, some only take one (like me). Which one you take depends on what university/ college you're trying to get into.

Those are tests taken all over the United States for any college or university.

@Zoeyyyy: yes. They will get a report of your class grades as well as the ACT and/or SAT scores. At my university, you can get scholarships based on those two factors. I'm sure it's similar at other schools.
