No one would say "Teşekkür" just like no one would say "Thank." IDid you meant teşekkürler?
If so, teşekkürler means thanks. And teşekkür ederim means thank you.
Example:
Yardımın için teşekkürler!
Thanks for your help!
Yardımın için teşekkür ederim.
Thank you for your help!
As a native speaker, I find teşekkürler more casual than teşekkür ederim. Teşekkür ederim is more polite or it is more used in formal. Maybe it's just me. I hope this helps a bit.

"teşekkür" is the noun form of the verb "to thank", so it's "thanking (noun)".
"teşekkürler" is the plural of "teşekkür", which means "thankings (or 'thanks', to give it in a more commonly understandable way)".
"etmek (which is where "ederim" comes from)" means something like "to make", so "teşekkür etmek (which, is where "teşekkür ederim" comes from)" means "to make thanking". Soo, "teşekkür ederim" would literally mean "I make thanking".
We use "teşekkürler", and "teşekkür ederim" in our daily lives.

@merwecool: First of all, if you want to help a native English speaker, I suggest speaking English. Second of all, it's none of your bussiness where I am from. There isn't an 'in my opinion' part to this question, it doesn't change for anyone. They are different.

@merwecool Sence aynı olabilir, ama sanıyorum ki genel kullanımlarında taşıdıkları anlam için bunu söylüyorsun. Ama kelimeler gramatik olarak incelendiklerinde, aynı kelimeler olmadığı apaçık, biri tekil isim, diğeri çoğul isim, ve diğeri ise tekil bir isimle kullanılmış yardımcı fiil (Sanıyorum sınıflandırması böyleydi).
@kedi Your reply seems harsher than even my usual replies. You sure do have the right to reply however you want, but was that kind of a reply really necessary?
Addition: If you perceive that there exists one, who has not the highest intellectual capability out there, I believe it is better for you to do one of the 2:
A) Try to make that being understand/realize what his/her 'problem/mistake' is.
B) Just ignore, in case you do not see any way to be successful with "A".
Doing "C" seemingly will not benefit your own intellect in any way.

@emirhan190 My reply seems harsher than even your usual replies? What does that mean?
I wasn't harsh. If they can't even talk the language of the person who they're going to help, I think they don't have the right to say anything.
You are judging me by my reply but, what would you say? It not even irrational to ask about the person's nationality or where they are from.

@kedi It really isn't a very rational thing to ask where somebody is from in order to know whether what that person is saying about the language is true or not, as someone who learned a language that is not his/her native language, can speak just as good as the native speakers of that language, if not better. I believe you should make the asker of that irrational question 'realize' why that was an irrational question, so that she may improve herself, if, she needs improving.
What I meant by your reply being harsher than even mines, is that, I considered myself to have the most offensive replies in arguments on this website

@emirhan1907 But the thing is, do you really think they'll understand their wrong in this situation? Not insulting the person, but the behaviour. I'm saving my fingers from a lot if effort by what you call, 'being harsh'.
Other than that, I agree with you.

Sorry to cause an argument 😄 thank you for your help, it was of course more the grammatical sense I was asking about, I knew they meant roughly the same thing. Thanks again

No, I'm sorry if I made you confused.. 😄 Exactly, you got it. 😉 You're welcome, no need to thank!
